How to support the MV Cape Don Society

The MV Cape Don Society Inc. is a non-profit incorporated organisation which was founded to carry out the refurbishment and conservation of the historic Lighthouse Tender MV Cape Don as a part of the maritime history of Australia, in accordance with maritime heritage guidelines. When restoration has been completed, the Society will maintain the MV Cape Don, operate the vessel for fund-raising purposes, for research, community assistance expeditions, for the benefit of all Society members, and hold the vessel in trust in perpetuity for Australia.

Right now we have a specific need for a "fighting fund" so that we can really make a move on the project - we need to buy paint (lots!), pumps, generators, cleaning equipment and various other items. Up until now the committee and others have been funding the project out of their own pockets, and this realistically can't continue.

All money donations are gratefully received; they can be paid by cheque, made out to the Sea Heritage Foundation, which is established to hold the MV Cape Don trust. The society is registered as a charitable organistaion and contributions are recognised by the ATO as tax deductible. The address for donations is below.

We also need volunteers and helpers by the dozen - so if you can spare the time if only for a few hours, we'd love to have you as members! Membership is only $20.00 and goes to the MV Cape Don project directly.

We hope you can help us with this exciting and wonderful project. See you onboard!
